Matric (SSC) and intermediate (HSSC) exams are conducted by Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE). Each covers a specific area: Punjab has boards such as Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Sahiwal, and other provinces have their own. Federal students sit FBISE exams.
